Prometheus
Society
Prometheus Society of Slovakia
is a NGO registered organisation, registered by the Interior Ministry
of Slovakia on March 09, 1990 associating SECULAR HUMANIST citizens
in Slovakia. Aims
Its main aims are:
- Defending the interests of citizens
of Slovakia who claim to be atheists, or do not profess any religion.
- Promoting freedom of thought,
conscience and religious as well as non-religious believes and
promoting human rights in Slovakia in accordance with the basic
constitutional law.
- Developing activities for satisfying
the specific cultural and spiritual needs of citizens who do not
profess any religion.
- To promote secular humanism and
ethics on national and international levels.
Young people
Prometheus Society has some young members and young people are much
welcomed within Prometheus Society.

Prometheus Society is a member of European Humanist Federation (EHF/FHE)
and of the International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU). The
Society co-operates with several international humanist organisations,
including IHEYO.

Involvement in IHEYO
Prometheus Society is a member organisation of IHEU (IHEYO is the
youth section of IHEU). Prometheus Society was present at the 2002
International Humanist Youth Conference. |
