Watch out: IHEYO International Conference on WitchKilling, Witch-hunting and Witch Stigmatization in Africa, Kenya 2010

As part of efforts to promote human rights and discourage killings in the name of witch-hunting, IHEYO is planning to organise a one-day international conference on witch-hunting saga in Africa in October, 2010.

The conference, which will also be followed by the General Assembly of IHEYO is being planned to highlight and bring to policy focus the current rising spate of witch-killing in Africa, most especially cases of child-witch-hunting in Nigeria, Kenya and Congo (not forgetting the plights of the child-albinos in Tanzania). The conference, which hopes to be more pragmatic by involving humanists, human right activists, positive values interest-groups and NGOs willing to work and working on stamping out the menace, is being organised by the IHEYO African Working Group, the HAWK Africa Project with a Kenyan Humanist group.
