First-ever official LGBT public gathering holds in Singapore

The group's press release reads:
"All Singaporeans should have the freedom to love, regardless of their sexual orientation. With this belief, a group of like-minded volunteers are encouraging Singaporeans to gather at Hong Lim Park on 16th May 2009, in support for an inclusive Singapore - free of bigotry towards LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Singaporeans".
Following from the initiative of Roy Tan, a gay Singaporean man who organised a no-platform, solo but well attended rally against section 377A of the Singaporean penal code last year, a group, Pink Dot Sig, is organising the first official LGBT gathering on May 16, 2009.
The group's press release reads:
